MEET THE TEAM

  • Cristol Barrett O’Loughlin

    FOUNDER & CEO

Based in the Bay Area and operating globally, Raregivers™ offers relief services to caregivers through sustainable health and wellness training, transformative retreats, and a globally connective mother-to-mother network. Raregivers™ believes in uplifting the family by caring for the caregivers, particularly mothers who are the primary caregiver 82% of the time. Founder & CEO, Cristol Barrett O’Loughlin, illustrates the unthinkable realities of losing three older brothers to the rare genetic disease Mucopolysaccharidosis, as well as the family difficulties (and triumphs!) while caring for children with a life-limiting illness in her TEDx talk Caring for the Caregivers.

  • Madie Wisler

    COMUNICATIONS MANAGER

As ANGEL AID’s Communication Manager, Madie oversees both internal and external communications, including developing, implementing, and monitoring ANGEL AID marketing campaigns. Madie grew up in Southern California, she graduated from Clemson University with her Bachelors in Business Management, and also a minor in Psychology! Madie is passionate about working with and helping the community and feels incredibly fortunate to work for and alongside this amazing Rare Mothers each day.

  • Lexi Pappas

    VIDEO EDITOR

As a video editor for Raregivers, I am responsible for editing and uploading content to both the Raregivers website and our YouTube channel. My work involves crafting videos that highlight our mission, initiatives, and the stories of the families we support. By ensuring high-quality, compelling visuals and seamless editing, I help amplify our message and reach a wider audience to raise awareness and support for those living with rare diseases.

  • Julie Southard

    Executive Assistant

Julie has an adult son in his 40’s with the rare disease, Cat Cry Syndrome. She discovered Raregivers™ support groups during the pandemic, "when my struggles with stress and isolation made it difficult to cope". She found so much value in the support groups, it inspired her to join the Raregivers™ team. As an Executive Assistant, some of her duties include schedule and calendar management, collaborate with community partners, and carry out specific projects and research. Julie is deeply grateful to be part of an organization that continues to be one of the most important influences in her journey as a rare mother.
